But for a woodpecker
tapping at a post, no sound
at all in the house

Last tuesday Artmind wrote about the Flickr explore pictures
I never heard of those before. So for today's mosaic I decided to take a look. The first picture I found was a beautiful image of old houses in Monschau, a beautiful  little town  close to where I live. And since I'm in a "houses mood" (see also my last blog post), I looked for other houses...and this is the result.

Euroweek - a retrospective

"Recession and Ice Cream Crowds have taken over"
~ Robin, a customer

Euroweek is over.
I make up the balance:
I was featured in lots of treasuries, 4 made the Frontpage of Etsy:

I was featured in Etsy Fashion email:

This brought me loads of new hearts, a wholesale inquiry, 4 custom orders and  3 sales.
Not too bad, given that
"Recession and ice cream crowds have taken over".

Sales fairy

When the winds of March are wakening the crocuses and crickets,
Did you ever find a fairy near some budding little thickets,...
And when she sees you creeping up to get a closer peek
She tumbles through the daffodils, a playing hide and seek.
~Marjorie Barrows

On a grey Saturday afternoon Inger from Ingermaaike listed a fairy in her shop: a Sales Fairy. A fairy, that should bring sales. A few moments later vadjutka bought it. At this moment the Sales Fairy game was born. It was vadjutka's turn to make a Fairy, to let her go and then someone else would make a new fairy etc etc.

I only found out about the Fairy just when the game was over, but this year I catched a very beautiful sales fairy made by Mari from ChoochMagooz. She flew all the way from Spain to Germany. Isn't she gorgeous?!
I was very glad to hear that the fairy I made found a good home with Esther and Estella  from Staroftheeast in Turkey.

I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now?

Monday Moodboard - Happy Spring and Happy Etsy Euroweek!

It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.
~Charles Dickens

These sellers offer a discount during Etsy Euro Week.

Today the EuroWeek starts on Etsy (and it's also the first day of spring in Europe).
Last year I missed out the entire week, but this year I offer 10% discount untill 28 of March in both shops if you use coupon code ''Euroweeksale'' when you check out.

I found these images on flickr while searching for "Carneval"!
I don't really like Carnival, that's why I liked the pictures, they don't look "carnivalesque".

Yes, Carneval is in town now...
that means spring is around the corner...

Realitieit is ook maar een droom

A few days ago I met Marjolein Schuurman on facebook. She sought people who wanted to play the lead role in a satirical blog post written by her?

It sounded fun. A little extra publicity for my shop
is always good.
I sent her a list of caracteristics and after a day or so I got a test blog, and after my approval, she put the post on her blog.

In that post, I am a foresthippie (a cross between a forest nymph and a hippie) who lives and works in Love Forest surrounded by strange creatures and with the help of seven wolves carries out her mission to innocent wood ramblers and Muggles (a Muggle is a person who lacks any sort of magical ability and was not born into the magical world).

And what is my mission then? My mission is to connect old and new jewelry, to restore jewelry in their former glory,to give back their value, to put my stamp on it and to show people and Muggles how much beauty there lies in imperfection.

Nicely written with lots of imagination and attention to detail she shows that reality is only a dream.

And what's also great, she fell in love with my jewelry and put them on a wish list for her husband, who promptly ordered a necklace.

Always wanted to play a leading role?...... You can:

New website for dogs and their owners

A friend of mine has recently launched her new website.
Chandra Djoenaedi is clearly a dog lover. Patoef.nl is a website for trendy dog owners and their trendy dogs.

In the shop you will find beautiful blankets and smart toys for smart dogs and lovely shoulder bags (and soon hats, I've heard) for the mistress. The shoulder bags are perfect for storing everything you need for a walk in the forest or a picnic, but they are great too when you go shopping.

What makes the items in this shop so special is the fact that everything is handmade with recycled materials. Padded jackets, ties, army socks, grandma's old skirt, old chains and neighbour's embroidery, everything is recycled and transformed into something beautiful.

Go and look for yourself
